
This module introduces learners to Access Control Systems, their benefits and key components. It covers different system types, such as standalone, virtual, wireless, hardwired and hybrid systems, explaining how they work and their advantages and disadvantages.
Learners will know the roles of system controllers, connection types (e.g. USB, LAN, VPN) and door entry systems (audio and video).
The module also defines key terms like anti-pass back, event logs, access rights and audit trails.
Please note: All learners must complete the mandatory Core Module and at least one Product Module. Additional modules can be completed as required.
